Graham Congratulates Cindy McCain on Being Named Executive Director of World Food Programme
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) made the following statement congratulating Ambassador Cindy McCain on being named the new Executive Director of the World Food Programme.
“Very excited to hear that Ambassador Cindy McCain will be the new Executive Director of the World Food Programme. I know Cindy will continue the strong leadership of the World Food Programme displayed by former South Carolina Governor David Beasley. I congratulate President Biden and U.N. Secretary General Gutteres for this choice.
“Cindy is known throughout the world, is a great humanitarian and will bring a business-like approach to the World Food Programme. She will continue to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and the money goes to help the people, and not the bureaucracy. I look forward to working with Cindy in the coming years. She is the best person for the job at a critical time in world history.”
