Graham on Biden Iran Policies

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham today made the following statement on President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid signing The Jerusalem U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Joint Declaration, a pledge to deny nuclear weapons access to Iran.

“Today, President Biden signed a joint pledge with Israel declaring that Iran shall never acquire nuclear weapons. Time will tell if the Biden Administration is truly committed to upholding this pledge. It is easy to sign an agreement making the claim but the question is, and has always been: do they have the will to enforce it?

“No one should be surprised if the United States one day reenters a broken Iran nuclear deal. The Biden Administration seems obsessed with accepting any Iran deal, regardless of how bad it is.

“I hope, for the sake of Israel and the world, this agreement is better for Israel than the Budapest Memorandum was for Ukraine. I hope it is not another ‘peace in our time’ moment reminiscent of Neville Chamberlain.

“After the debacle in Afghanistan and the situation in Ukraine, I worry about the Biden Administration’s resolve to contain dangerous actors and stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions.”
