Graham On Tillerson Rejecting North Korea Negotiations

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on Secretary of State Tillerson warning North Korea that military force was "on the table" if the country continues to develop its weapons program.

“I appreciate Secretary Tillerson letting the world know that the clock has run out when it comes to ineffectively dealing with North Korea’s ballistic missile ambitions.

“Unfortunately, it’s just a matter of time before North Korea will develop a nuclear-tipped missile that can strike the American homeland. Previous efforts at diplomacy have failed and the Trump Administration is right to put military action on the table to stop a growing threat to the American homeland from one of the most unstable regimes on the planet.

“For those who believe we can contain a North Korea armed with a nuclear-tipped missile that can reach the American homeland -- I respectfully disagree.

“It’s past time for China to take this matter more seriously. It’s also long overdue for an American President to let North Korea know they will not be allowed to develop a nuclear-tipped missile that can strike the American homeland.”
