Chesterfield Water Company to Receive Over $3 Million in Federal Assistance

WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today announced Alligator Rural Water and Sewer Company in Chesterfield County will receive over $3 million in federal assistance to improve the company’s infrastructure. The award comes from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Project. Alligator will receive a grant of $1.3 million and an additional $2 million in loans. The funds will be used for the construction of a new booster pump station, administrative office, and treatment facility. In addition, money will be used to buy new construction equipment and install new water lines to serve lower Chesterfield County. “Infrastructure improvements lead to future economic development,” said Graham. “This project will benefit the people and businesses in Chesterfield County.”
