WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on the passing of 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter. 

“President Carter lived a full, incredible and consequential life. He will be remembered for his decency and his humanitarian efforts as much as any legislative accomplishment. 

“He achieved major Middle East reconciliation during his presidency and proved once again that coming from humble roots in one of the most rural areas of America is no barrier to becoming president and living out big dreams. 

“As a committed Christian, he has now rejoined the love of his life, Rosalynn. May he rest in peace.”
