Chairman Graham Locks in Key Committee Vote for Judge Barrett?

WASHINGTON?– Today the Senate Judiciary Committee, led by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), set a date for a committee vote on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

The committee will vote on Judge Barrett’s nomination on Thursday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m.

“I think that Judge Barrett is exactly the kind of person that you would expect any Republican president to consider because of who she is, the way she’s lived her life, and the philosophy she espouses.

“We’ve given this nominee a chance to be questioned fairly and firmly. There is no way you will convince me that Amy Coney Barrett is not qualified to serve in this position.

“I have had an opportunity to witness several people apply for the job of Supreme Court Justice. I have never met a more amazing person in my life than Judge Barrett. From the professor who helped the struggling young blind student to her knowledge of the law to her disposition and character, Judge Barrett is in a class all her own.

“The hearing of Judge Amy Barrett to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court is now over. The committee vote will be October 22.

“There is a seat waiting for Judge Barrett on the Court, and God-willing she will be voted out of committee and confirmed swiftly.”
