Graham Announces Nearly $1.25 Million for South Carolina Parks

WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today announced nearly $1.25 million in federal grants for parks throughout South Carolina. Edisto Beach The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism will receive $249,808 for the redevelopment of the Live Oak Boat Landing and Dock at Edisto Beach State Park. The funds will be used for the replacement of the boat launch and dock facilities. Kershaw County Kershaw County will receive $250,000 for improvements at Lugoff-Elgin Recreation Complex Phase I. The funds will be used for the construction of four baseball/softball fields, three soccer fields, two tennis courts, a walking trail, restrooms, and parking. Myrtle Beach The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism will receive $500,000 for improvements at Myrtle Beach State Park. The funds will be used to enhance beach access and dune preservation with the construction of dune crosswalks, boardwalks, and concrete walks. Rock Hill The City of Rock Hill will receive $250,000 for improvements at Glencairn Garden. The funds will be used for the enhancement of trails, terraces, streambeds, and a pond. The grants were awarded by the National Park Service. ####
