WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement after voting yes in the Senate Judiciary Committee on the nomination of Michelle Childs to the DC Circuit Court. The vote in committee was 17-5 in support.

“Judge Childs has been a district court judge for ten years, and she is highly respected by every corner of the legal community in South Carolina. 

“Judge Childs would not have been chosen by a conservative Republican president, but she is highly qualified to do the job. She has earned a reputation of following the law as it is written, being fair, and having a disposition that lawyers enjoy being in front of. Judge Childs wears the robe well.

“I enthusiastically supported her nomination to this important position and look forward to her confirmation by the full Senate.”
