WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made the following statement after voting against a procedural motion on S.1.

“S.1 was written by liberal Democrats for liberal Democrats to gain control over our nation’s election process. 

“This bill institutes ballot harvesting – an insane idea – for the nation at large. It does away with voter ID requirements and takes away from states the ability to draw congressional districts based on redistricting.

“Simply put, this is the biggest power-grab in modern American history. S.1 has nothing to do with making voting easier – it has everything to do with skewing the system in a fashion to benefit the liberal agenda. I enthusiastically voted no.”
