Graham Backs Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on Senate passage of the bipartisan infrastructure legislation.

“The bipartisan infrastructure bill is good for South Carolina.  It provides much-needed help for our roads, bridges, ports, and expands broadband internet access.  I have always been supportive of infrastructure investment and wish we had passed this years ago.

“This bill provides American infrastructure with a much-needed facelift.”

  • The legislation includes substantial funding for South Carolina including record-high investment in our state’s road infrastructure.
  • South Carolina will receive $4.6 billion in highway funding, $274 million in bridge replacement and rehabilitation funding, and $70 million to assist in the deployment of electric vehicles and charging stations over the next five years.
  • The legislation includes the Graham-cosponsored provision which promotes easier access for South Carolina businesses to view and apply for government procurement contracts.
